December Event Recap & Happy Holidays From SLC|SEM

On December 14th, 2011, SLC|SEM held an informal holiday networking event with great food, great people, and lots of industry discussions at the
Red Rock Restaurant & Brew Pub.  The food and the service were excellent, and a good time was had by all!

It was a great chance for the local search community to come together and share experiences about what’s worked for them in 2011 and what they plan to do in 2012.  While some business deals went down quietly at corner tables, loud laughter erupted frequently from other tables as friends caught up and new relationships were made. Here's just a sample of the good times that were had:

You can see more pictures from the event at
Facebook.com/SLCSEM. Also, the exciting news was announced that the location for the next several months of SLC|SEM meetings have been booked at
The Leonardo, Utah Science and Technology Arts Museum in downtown Salt Lake City. This newly renovated, high class venue should provide room to grow the organization and will serve as great backdrop for upcoming events, such as the January 18th evening forum event featuring guest speakers from
Bing &
Sundance Institute to highlight video search behavior and online marketing opportunities with video, as the 'unofficial kickoff' to the 2012 Sundance Film Festival in Utah. More great events for Utah based search marketers are already being lined up for the rest of the year  - including an appearance by search guru Danny Sullivan (Feb 22nd), Editor-in-Chief of
SearchEngineLand.com, March 14th will feature Paid Search issues as our topic of the evening, and in April, the organization has (tentatively) slotted an Analytics discussion featuring Dennis Goedegebuure, (
@thenextcorner), VP of Internet Marketing at GeekNet. A Special thanks to
Matt Siltala, in from out of town, for taking some great candid snapshots of the event.  Overall, the event was a great success and we look forward to an exciting 2012 with SLC|SEM! About the Author: Rob Parsons is an entrepreneur and co-founder of
